Evening from a quite jolly undeaf Gness.....☺

I lived...I can hear....I don't whoosh....I'm merry but did anything go wrong?.....Of course it did!

1. The taxi I'd booked didn't arrive.....took ages to get another.

2. The anaesthetist was surprised I'd never ever had surgery but I wasn't to worry about my hiatus hernia and varicose veins......I have had six operations.....and have never had a hiatus hernia or varicose veins.

3. After grumpy nurse had forced my legs into stockings....I noticed a warning...Do not use on a patient with a history of Intermittent Claudication. I told her that was me.....it wasn't in my notes or pre-assessment she said....so it didn't apply to me.
I asked for a second opinion on that so she pulled them off...threw them on the be and said...don't wear them then
I noticed on my notes she had written...Patient refuse to wear stockings....I changed that myself....to patient needed advice.

4. The recovery room...I woke to find myself talking about giving the room a makeover...black ceiling tiles....muted lighting etc....comfy sofas. Well it was far too beige.

5. My recovery nurse was kind....but kept calling me Julie....when I asked why she said she could call me Mrs S if I preferred.....I suggested Gness.
A little voice from the other bed said....I'm Julie S....wrong post op care notes on our beds.

6. Grumpy told us we could go at 4pm so we phoned our lifts but Grumpy wouldn't give us our discharge notes....she only had one pair of hands!!!
I went out to find a cool place and wait...when I returned she had had a go at Julie S....there were arguments and it took the arrival of Mr Julie S to get some action.

My notes...the ones I waited hours for say....I can swim with ear plugs...go to school tomorrow....that's all.
So I opened the letter to my doctor....very little there except to tell him I have had grommets inserted into both...EYES!!!! Honestly....

I feel fantastic....bit of a sore throat from a biopsy but nothing else except silence if I choose and sound if I choose.....xx☺

Glad you are fixed and even happier to learn you escaped in one piece (plus 2 small additions).
Does anything ever go without mishaps for you? I am glad you are home, and can hear at last. xx
Oh good grief, remind me of your hospital, so I can veto it.
Glad you can hear, bless ya, and poor Julie too.
lol i lived to tell the tale......er its gonna be a saga i know it!!
glad all went well gness xxxxxxx
Nice to know nothing out of the ordinary happened during your dalliance with our esteemed NHS,gness, welcome back!!:-)
Omg gness...what a day lol. So glad it was successful and you can hear x

Mmmmmm. should I add eye grommets to my wish list?
Glad you're back in one piece.
Don't talk to me about wrong notes, the rows I had when Mic was in.

Well no-one had mentioned biopsy to me so maybe Julie should have had it done....oh well...someone will get the results...maybe.

Had to laugh at the list of 24 possible side effects and complications the anaesthetist gave me.
Number 24 is equipment failure....23 is death....☺
gness, glad to hear you're back home relatively safe and well. Have you ever considered writing your autobiography? I think it could be a best seller :o)
Question Author
Vulcan...people pay me NOT to write my autobiography...☻☻
are you going to school tomorrow ?
I don't believe you are alive really. This must be a ghost gness typing.
Good to hear (see what I did there?) that all went well. If swimming is high on our agenda you might want to try one of these (boy #1's consultant recommended it) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Swim-Stop-Band-it-Swimming-headband/dp/B005H0G1L0
Imagine two weeks in there.

Then imagine two weeks in there with Mrs O.

The mind boggles - pure and utter fantasy-land......

Glad that you are out, sort of fine!
Glad all went we'll. did you bring the gas man home with you or did he smuggle you a private supply hahaha.
All you've got to hope for now is that they used plenty of Araldite and they don't come loose!!Lol.

I perhaps would, Anne....but they pulled the school down just after I retired....I tell people I booby trapped it....☺

Nope...just tried to walk through a wall, Jim....no can do...

Sherr....I can't get in water with other people....that's why I built my own pool years ago....I could hose other users down before they joined me.... the local council pool stopped me doing that.... :-(
is you designated carer there ?
