Recommend A Printer
As many of you will know I'm not technically minded so apols in advance for any silly questions!
I've got a new HP laptop which runs Windows 8.1 connected to wifi.
My old pc was a Dell with a printer bought at the same time - wasn't using wi fi for this set up. Am I right in thinking the old Dell printer won't work with the new laptop and if so, please would you recommend a modest printer suitable for my set up. I really do very little printing, not photographs or anything important. Thank you.

The printer you have has no wi-fi capability and its too much of a faff to do a workaround. Congratulations on having an old printer still working, mine normally last about three years.
I've now got a Canon Pixma which I'm quite pleased with

I didn't buy mine from Amazon, but saw it in a local market on 'special offer'.

I had to get the driver for my Cannon Pixma a while ago when I changed from Vista to Windows 8. It was quite easy on the Cannon website but get someone to help you if you`re not sure. There`s a bit of info here
