It can vary enormously, depending upon the make and model.

PC World charge the cost of the screen (but be prepared to pay significantly more for it from PC World than the prices quoted in my link) plus £50.

A local PC repair shop would probably get the part from somewhere like my link (possibly adding perhaps 10% to 20% onto the price as their profit for supplying it to you) and then charge you perhaps £40 or £50 for the labour.

Wherever you go, make sure that you get a fixed quote (rather than an 'estimate') before agreeing to anything. There are plenty of places that will happily charge you three or four times a fair price.

I ask this question about 3 years ago, it was for a friend on mine's son, his Lap had a cracked screen. £ 130, you can do it your self nut you need patience & time, if you decide to do it, check on ebay.

Sorry late getting back to you.I rang a computer repair shop and he gave me £70 for screen ,£10 for labour,and he is even coming out to me to do it,so £10 for that.
I am at present in Wales at my caravan ,it is my grandson`s laptop that needs repairing...I don`t drive so mentioned this to the man on the phone and he kindly offered to come to me...the bus fare would have been almost a tenner..coming today at 11.30.
