Every time I open up my inbox there is an annoying advertisement at the top of the page. This has only started recently. Does anyone know how I can get rid of these?

the means to do it is openly available to everyone but this site's policy is to remove references to it because adverts pays for its upkeep

If it's the one at the very start of your inbox listed e/mails, I Do Not think there is much you can do; except delete it. The Browser Add-on which cannot be mentioned will only stop the adverts which surround the page.

If you haven't got any adverts around the page, then it would appear that you already are using the 'unmentionable'.

maggiebee....it sounds like what I had in my Yahoo emails yesterday....was it in Inbox as an email, but with no check box to the left of it to enable you to mark it as Spam?

aah, I see Hans has identified the very same....I ran Malwarebytes, then shut everything down + did a reboot, that got rid.

To get to your e-mails you could use an Internet browser to go to the e-mail provider's website, log in and see your account. But then you get whatever ads they wish to show you on the webpage.

Or you could install an e-mail client (for example MS Outlook) on your PC and set it up to download e-mails to the PC; in which case you probably won't see additional ads.
