So you have a load of photos on you iPad.

You crop and Save them.

But, ages later, if you click on Edit, you have the option to "Revert to Original".

Does this mean that the iPad has copies of all the discarded originals, just taking up memory space?

If so, can you get rid of them and recover that space?

They must be still there if they can be restored. Would they take up a lot of memory?
Only way to do that would be to save them on a comp, delete them on the ipad and then put them back.

Unless someone know different?

I dunno.

It's just that my iPad doesn't have much space left.

It says I've used 12.0gb and only have 1.4gb left.

There's not much on my iPad. I wondered if it was clogged up with old photos?
Unlike other photo editors the iPad edit function seems to operate like Adobe Lightroom in that the changes aren't made to the original but are simply a 'remembered' set of settings used to display the photo, hence the ability to revert to the original, as such there aren't duplicates. I'm pretty sure that when one used to edit a photo it asked if you wanted to save a copy but now it just seems to ask if you're done.
Settings, general, usage, manage storage will tell you what is using what space. Messages can take up a fair bit of space if people are in the habit of sending you pictures, or you send pictures via message
