Control Panel > System and Security > System

displays the basic Windows info (32/64 bit is given in the System section)

which was the last version of Windows for which Control Panel didn't give that info?

p.s. I use W8.1+ and winver just gives the Windows version and build but not whether it's 32bit or 64bit

hate to contradict but Win 7 does have control panel / system and security
