This morning, I had a telephone call from (0019372470349) and an Asiatic gentleman said something along the lines of " I am speaking on behalf of Microsoft Computer Monitoring Services and have to advise you that there is a virus in your computer, which could cause you serious problems". My reaction was... "Which one of my Computers because within my family there are at least ten or eleven." His response was "The one on this Telephone line."...I reacted and said that there were three on the line and one was 'hard wired' and the other two were on Wireless connection. (All of my comments being completely untrue). I continued to engage him in conversation and asked what telephone number he had dialled. Unfortunately he was unable to tell me but explained that his function was to react to whatever came up on his computer which would involve Telephone numbers which were connected by Broadband to Computers which had been identified, through highly Technical equipment, as being in danger of being completey dis-abled without attention being given to remove the virus.
The point was then reached where I told the caller that he was Scamming me and that I had held him on-line for long enough to enable the Local Police to be in a position to trace the site from whence the call had come............Strangely!!... The line immediately went dead.

These people aren't telesales people trying to earn a few honest bob, they're nasty, weasily scammers who would rob their own grandma of her life savings if they could, they deserve nothing but contempt. How would you feel if they relieved your mum, nan, auntie, whoever, of their life savings? Would you still be polite to them? I doubt it.
If Hans or anyone else manages to glean a modicum of amusement by dealing with them in whatever way they see fit, then good luck to them.
