I have a Samsung Galaxy SII. I want to move my files like photo's and video's etc to the computer to free up space: I put the USB in to the computer and plugged the other end to the phone. the charge symbol comes up to let me know it's connected but the computer doesn't seem to read that the phone is connected, ie it doesn't come up with the option to view the files on the phone. Can anyone tell me why and how to fix it?

look in your control panel...it should show there as an external drive..open it from there
Make sure of the USB debugging in the phone setting firstly, then your phone can be detected quickly. Or try a compatible usb cable to link the phone with PC. Lastly, you can try MobiKin assitant for Android software to help you move files from Samsung phone to computer easily.
