Anything you have actually downloaded should be in your Downloads Folder: unless you have opted to place it elsewhere in your Computer/Laptop.
A speed tester is most unlikely to slow down your equipment.
Please do a speed test with the following link and report your findings.

G'afternoon codswallop..... I am anxious that you should have a good Broadband connection and, whilst yours is very slow at present, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Internet Speed Testers. You are unable to find any file/folder for a Speed Tester, which you think you have downloaded, because you have to go 0n-line to do any testing. The most you are likely to find in your PC/Laptop would be a shortcut to the testing site concerned; and that would have involved your having set-up such a shortcut.
Please tell me from whom you receive your Broadband. If it is BT then you are talking to someone who has been having problems with the firm since March of this year. I am still receiving telephone calls from Indian Call Centres which are going to be closed down by BT and brought back to the UK.
Having said what I have, it is disappointing to me that other regular posters in AB's Technology section have remained silent on the issue. If I am 'barking up the wrong tree', I would welcome a Techie telling me so.

I've just been onto Yahoo but the names of the individual sites look very similar so I'm not really sure which one I went for.I thought that I'd d/loaded one which brings me back to my original post of wanting to uninstall it but can't find it to do so But the general feeling among you good AB'ers that's not the answer to my very, very slow internet speed.Thanks.
You could try TalkTalk's on-line help pages and see what you make out from them.. I have just used its Speed Tester and, although I am operating with BT as my Broadband provider, it gave me identical readings to what I am getting at present from BT's Tester. !2.3 down and 1.0 up.

Hi codswallop.....How are things progressing.?
By the way, I have never established what equipment you are using.(Comp, Lappy or whatever) Furthermore, whether your equipment is connected to your Browser by a cable or if you are reliant upon a Wireless link-up.
I always feel that it is best to be 'hard wired' because wireless connections can be subjected to outside interference.

I would have corresponded further with you yesterday evening if my Broadband connection hadn't failed. Now back to your problem.
The only thing I can now suggest is perhaps direct contact with Talk Talk's Technical section. The following has been copied and pasted:-
"Call us now
Please make sure you have your account details to hand when you call.
From your TalkTalk landline: 0870 444 1820
Calling from your Mobile? Save money and dial 0203 441 5550.
Calls to the 0870 number above are free from your TalkTalk phone. Calls from non-TalkTalk or AOL lines are charged at 3ppm plus your phone company's access charge."
Best of luck........Hans.
