Iphone 6 Battery Charging Problems

Is anyone having problems charging their iphone 6 since updating to IOS 9.1?
symptoms are, no indication at all that the phone is charging (no bell sound at plug in). but the phone is ok.
I hear that Apple have put a chip in the lightning plug of their charger cables that prevents a non apple charger from charging the iphone. Anyone else having this problem?

I have a different problem in that I think my iPhone (not 6, much older but updated to IOS 9.1) is fully charged and pull it out of my handbag to see it completely flat, although I haven't used it.

Ive had no problem charging since 9.1 but I am using Apple charger/cable.

JennyKenny - Go to Settings / Battery and you should see what's using up the battery...
