How Lucky Am I!!!!

My laptop lives on a corner of the dining table.....

I was just hopping into the shower....out to dinner tonight and tarting up takes longer these days.....when the storm to beat all storms hit....

Must watch this....thought I....so I went down to the patio doors in the dining room....and heard the sound of a river rushing above my head....

Just had time to rescue the laptop when the river burst through the boxed in joist between the original dining room and the flat roof extension and landed on the table..... minus the laptop.....lucky eh?....☺

Now off to see if I can make myself look less like someone who's been climbing on a roof, in a storm with a torch before the friends arrive.....xx

I don't need external water - just had a rather longer than usual shower in my new house ... and am now mopping up water from under the bathroom carpet. I think there is a small leak which normally doesn't quite overflow the shower cubicle surround, but did this time.

As an aside, who carpets bathrooms anyway?? A vile idea that I will be rectifying asap.

You remind me of a friend that lives in Glasgow. Waiting at a busy bus stop one day a car stopped, thinking she knew the man and as no one else went forward she approached the car. He asked her if she was going into town she said yes and he said well pop in. This happened for quite a while in fact I think years. I asked her what was his name which she didn't know. I didn't like to ask.

Worst lift I used to get was when a chap who fancied me used to drive up to the bus stop to give me a lift....in his hearse......the back filled with the huge plastic tubs of chipped potatoes he delivered to all the local chippies.......x
