When I go to different sites the words are a light grey, and I find it hard to read at times.
They are the same on here.

The size is OK, they just need to be darker.

You can do that in your settings trt. But you will need to advise us as to what system you are using ie w7, w8, w10, mac?
Your text setting are under Tools>Options. Choose a default font like Arial Black if you want a darker, bolder font as your default font. With some details someone will walk you through the procedure. I am off out any time soon but will look in again later.

My Tools>Options is not there at the top, where do I find it? please.
To show the Tools option, Right-Click anywhere along a blank area across the top of the browser to display a drop-down menu, then Click the option "Menu Bar"

W8 notorious for indistinct text trt. I don't use firefox but they have an add on called nosquint. Buenchico will know as he is a fan and user of firefox. Have a look at the link and maybe wait for Buen to pick up the baton.
I've forgotten what Widows system I am operating on.Had so many different in the past. I know it's not 10 though. :-)
As pinky says hover the cursor top right and click the settings charm, then control panel, then choose text settings. Or use the windows logo key and X at the same time, settings, control panel etc. I have forgotten how to use w8 now retrocop, love my w10.
@retrocop.........When you start-up your Computer/Laptop, the opening 'Welcome' page will display what Winddows you have at the bottom of the screen. Similarly, when you close-down, the info will be on the bottom of the 'Shutting Down' page.

If you want further info, such as, is it 32 or 64 bit...it's worth a click and read of the following. :-

Hans.
Your post suggests that your monitor is incorrectly set up.

Take a look here:

You should be able to see the numbers from 0 to 10 clearly displayed on two lines. If you can't (which seems unlikely to me), follow the instructions on that page.
I like the link Buen. It would appear that I am set up just lovely. Reminded me of the days setting up the 'grey scale' and colour tones on an old CRT colour TV.
