I've finally discovered what it actually does. It pairs with your phone over bluetooth (that where the BT comes from) and when your phone is moved a few feet away from your computer, the computer is automatically locked. Your phone will vibrate to let you know. I don't know if you'd find that useful but if you don't want it, remove it. So it is nothing to do with BT,...

It's not "Bt" locker but "bit locker" which is a Windows security feature.
Bit Locker is encryption software which will encrypt every file on your computer.

The files will be password protected and you need the password to use the PC or view files.

It is used on laptops containing sensitive information (police, secret service etc) in case a laptop or PC is stolen.

It is not really needed for the "average" user, and of course if you forget the password you would not be able to use your PC.

Its definitely BT Locker, something to do with pairing your phone with the laptop to lock it, I think. The only thing is I have an iPhone and it looks as though it may be for android ones!

Thank you @hc4361 I cant understand why I've been asked to sign up for this on my new Levono laptop as I'm with talktalk!! Makes no sense. I think I'll give it a miss

Just out of curiosity I just Googled BT Locker, the only results I got were for BiT Locker.
Baldric, BT Locker comes up in the top 4 results for me when I Google

Yes, its the one from the link 'should I remove it'

I'm still not clear how it would benefit me and whether I should install it
I always work on the assumption if I don't like the sound of it it appears suspicious. Leave it alone.
canasta, somewhere on your laptop will be a user guide, or manual. I am sure that will explain the BT Locker function and how you can use it.

What model is your laptop?

It's a Levino ideapad 305

I don't know if you'd find that useful but if you don't want it, remove it. So it is nothing to do with BT, Talk Talk or your wifi.

I lock my computer by using the CTRL Alt Del key combination.
Baldric:
You seem to be using Google without the all important double-quotation marks!
(You should have searched for "bt locker", which forces Google to look for that exact search string).

Canasta:
As Hc4361 points out, the 'BT' in the program name refers to BlueTooth. BT Locker is listed as a pre-installed program here, for example:
http://www.lenovo.com/shop/emea/content/pdf/Essential/BSeries/B70DSEN.pdf

Hc4361:
Congratulations on finding out what the program actually does! Even Lenovo don't seem to want to tell people!
I found a blog in Chinese that explained it. Thanks Google Translate!
