I've finally discovered what it actually does. It pairs with your phone over bluetooth (that where the BT comes from) and when your phone is moved a few feet away from your computer, the computer is automaticall y locked. Your phone will vibrate to let you know. I don't know if you'd find that useful but if you don't want it, remove it. So it is nothing to do with BT,...

Bit Locker is encryption software which will encrypt every file on your computer.
The files will be password protected and you need the password to use the PC or view files.
It is used on laptops containing sensitive information (police, secret service etc) in case a laptop or PC is stolen.
It is not really needed for the "average" user, and of course if you forget the password you would not be able to use your PC.

I lock my computer by using the CTRL Alt Del key combination.

You seem to be using Google without the all important double-quotation marks!
(You should have searched for "bt locker", which forces Google to look for that exact search string).
Canasta:
As Hc4361 points out, the 'BT' in the program name refers to BlueTooth. BT Locker is listed as a pre-installed program here, for example:

Congratulations on finding out what the program actually does! Even Lenovo don't seem to want to tell people!
