Buenchico Are You About?

After 5 days without a problem the 'please scan channels' message has started again. Any more thoughts, it's a new scart lead and we've tried it in both of the inputs. I'm struggling to find a repair man that will come and have a look but if I take it to a shop they could put in on test for 3/4 days and not see the message/fault.

Hmmm. It's tricky because it could be either a fault with the TV (causing it to switch sources for no good reason) or with the digibox (producing too low a signal for the TV to recognise). It's tricky because it could be either a fault with the TV (causing it to switch sources for no good reason) or with the digibox (producing too low a signal for the TV to recognise). It would be interesting to know whether the problem still occurred with a different input source (such as a DVD player). If it did then it's clearly a TV fault; if not, it's probably a digibox fault.
Assuming that it's a Sky digibox, I'd be tempted to get hold of a cheapie from eBay, insert your existing Sky card into and see if that makes any difference:

If not, you've only wasted a few euros (which you can recoup by reselling on eBay anyway) and you'll know that it's definitely a fault with the TV, so that you can get someone to look at it.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I too thought about playing a DVD to see if the message appeared and guess what? I couldn't get the drawer open on our little used DVD player Grrrrrrrr! Hubby had a good idea and last night swapped tvs over and there was no problem so the fault must be with the tv. So I'll take it to a repair shop and for now we'll have to watch tv on a diddy screen. Thanks once again.
