Tiny Symbol Has Suddenly Appeared On My Screen.

When I booted up this morning I noticed a tiny circle on the
screen just above the speaker symbol.
It is half the size of a match stick & even though I hovered over it
I can't remove it or discover what it is.
Being an absolute technophobe I am hoping it is not sinister.
I ran Malwarebytes with no issues thrown up.

Any advice please as I am a worrier.

It sounds like it could be the microphone symbol. Although why it would suddenly appear, I'm not sure. Do you have a microphone, or something plugged into the pink microphone socket at the back of your computer?
