American Megatron?

When I turn on my computer the name American Megatron appears.Can anyone tell what it is?

Did you mean American Megatrends ?
They write BIOS systems amongst other things. Especially for AMI.

A computer is initially nothing more than a lot of electronic components in a box. In order to get it to do binary calculations it needs a Basic Input/Output System ( = 'BIOS') on its motherboard. On top of that it needs an operating system (such as Windows or Linux) to turn that calculating power into a 'thinking' ability.

When you first turn your computer on it announces that the BIOS is present and tells you which company created it. (In this case, American Megatrends, assuming that O_G has correctly identified your error). It will do that even on a brand new computer which hasn't yet got any operating system on it.

Then, once the BIOS has loaded, the operating system (e.g. Windows) can follow suit and announce its presence on your screen.
