OK so 2 weeks on holiday using my Hudl tablet rather than usual laptop and mouse and it's driven me mad. How do some of you manage with just a tablet? Can't do links, can't do copy and paste, predictive text wrong most of the time, sliding the blue arrow to make corrections and it not going in the right place azrrrggghh can't stand it. Actually makes me want to go home.

Use one when I am away from home
Not easy but better than nothing
Dunno about the Hudl but all (well most) of those things are do-able on the iPad, surely you can turn off predictive text ?
You need to learn how to use it, Prudie. Course you can do links, course you can cut and paste. It's easy when you know how. :)
I'm talking about an iPad, though. Is that the same as a tablet?
You just got a *** tablet.
And you can copy and paste on Android.

I have a Samsung galaxy s2...9.7" screen. I've only had it about 5 weeks, but I really like it.( had a google nexus previously) I can do links,c&p,etc...can't imagine using a laptop anymore.

Yes I know you can do all links, c&p etc I just don't know how. The constant finger tapping irritates me and for what I use it for - internet, email and candy crush it's just as good as an ipad.
Although I own a (basic, cheapo) tablet, I've hardly ever used it. However my netbook goes almost everywhere with me. I find it a good compromise between the convenience of a tablet and the size of a true laptop.
Prudie....I am with you 100% ! I use my Tablet only for emails and Facebook.

As far as I am concerned, Tablets are little more than expensive toys.

You should have taken your laptop on hols with you !
Buenchico is right.

I use my Netbook when I am in my caravan, otherwise its my desktop, with the 32 inch screen...ever seen a Tablet with a screen that large ?
I have Kindle fire ..can do all the above. I have a small wireless keyboard to use with it also...lappie at home and kindle in bag when I go out...
It's enough having a 32" TV...but a giant pc screen also? Nooooo.
I love the portability...I can use my tablet anywhere.
