Excellent. Thanks, togo :)
Haha you are no doubt correct there hc makes more sense than Internet Expl. I was wondering must admit. Mind you Internet Explorer is still rubbish.
Haven't used IE for many years, Edge seems okay
Question Author
hc4361, sorry I meant Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer.

Togo, when I right click I get ‘Properties’ and ‘Open Windows Explorer’, and nothing in either led me to where I needed to be. I’ve had no other problems with Windows 10.
Do you get the tiles when you click on the Windows logo?
I think hc is asking you to left click the windows logo Naomi, to see if your app tiles appear over your background screen. If the do just left click the logo again to reset to the page you were on. Could you please report back if you feel obliged to do this.
Question Author
Togo, When I left-click the logo I get the usual drop down menu that leads me into other menus dealing with all the applications and functions - all except controlling the 'brightness' it seems.
When you left click you should see 'settings' - you can control screen brightness from there.

But you should also see tiles to the right of the list
Question Author
When I left-click I get a menu and another directly to the right of it that. I am quite au fait with both those menus - but there is nothing marked 'Settings'.
Can you post a screenshot? :)
Even easier, when you left click on the Windows logo does your screen look anything like this?

Hmm that sound unusual Naomi. It should give a display of all the tiles with for example store, xbox, office, one note etc depending on what you have installed pre update.
Question Author
No idea how, but I'll tell you some of what's on the menus.

The one to the left: Microsoft Excel, Calculator, Norton, Powerpoint, Internet Explorer.

The one to the right: Documents, Pictures, Music, Games, Computer, Control Panel, Devices and Printers.
Question Author
hc4361, it looks nothing like that. It looks the same as it did before Windows 10 arrived.
Have you downloaded some sort of software to change the appearance of W10?
No tiles hc looks as if Naomi has a little issue to resolve here. Hmm what to say.
Question Author
hc4361, I've downloaded nothing. I do very little on my computer. I'm not into games, music, etc.
Very odd. Are you sure you are using W10?
Question Author
Togo, I don't have an issue with it. It all works perfectly well for my purposes.
Question Author
hc4361, positive.
