Ebay...what Is Going On?
14 Answers
A few weeks ago I posted on here about an email (allegedly) from eBay to inform me they had reasons to believe my account had been used fradulently. I was told by another AB member the correct link to use to reset my password. Since then it has happened twice more. Today, I got a similar email to say "we have reason to believe your account has been used fraudulently without your permission" It then said "Although we've taken steps to secure your eBay acount, your personal email accont or third-party listing tools may also have been accessed without your permission". After receiving this email, I tried to sign into my eBay account using my phone but it came up with a message to say I had put in the wrong username or password but I know I had entered these correctly. I will again use the link I was given before to reset my password which incidentally is strong with a mixture of letters (including capitals), numbers & symbols. What on earth could be going on?? I have had an active eBay account since 2004 & it is only in the last few weeks I have had this problem.

When you're able to get into your eBay account, sign in, click on 'My eBay' at the top of the page and then on 'Messages'. Anything which eBay has genuinely emailed to you will be duplicated there. If there's no copy of the email in 'Messages' then it's definitely fake and you should simply delete it.

Are you talking about Payal rather than ebay, TWR?
Do these emails mention you by name as I think they are likely to be phishing/ contain malware links? I'd try to sign in again on another device. Maybe the old password was stored in your phone. if you still can't get in go through the lost password procedure
