Tv Remote

We have a Toshiba tv and the remote control doesn't turn tv on- probably due to the red light not working. If I could source another remote with the same serial number, would it work on my set? Thanks

If you have a smart phone, you should be able to download an app that acts as the TV remote.

Thanks, don't think my little Nokia counts as a smart phone! Not sure if my husband's phone is though. Will ask.

Smartphones work very well as remote controls, until the smartphone owner goes out with it :D

You can get "universal remote controls" that work with any tv (this is handy if yours is no longer made).

A question was posted last Saturday about a replacement Remote Controller for a Toshiba and Buenchico advised against a Universal Replacement and suggested a dedicated one.
