I signed up to Gravatar with my Answerbank username and with the same email address I used to register with Answerbank, and clicked on 'Activate avatar' but still not seen it. Is there something else I should have done?
Have you got more than one email address in Gravatar? If so, is the one which matches your AB address the primary one? If not you must make it so by clicking on the address and 'make primary'. Gravatar only works on the primary address.
You seem to have all of the usual stuff (including waiting a fortnight after joining).
The only additional thing which I can think of (which has been mentioned in answer to similar questions occasionally) is to assign a classification to your avatar within Gravatar. The system is based upon the US film classification system, so you need to declare that your avatar has a 'G' rating. (That's 'General', equivalent to our 'U' for universal). Apparently AB only accepts G-rated avatars.
I can't remember the email address I used to join AnswerBank - I was in France, so it was definitely different. I'd really like to have an avatar, but can't see that is possible (can't remember the password I used either) :(
Goodgoalie:
There might be a slight delay in your avatar appearing (even after you've given it a G-rating) because AB only updates profile details every 15 minutes.
Jourdain:
You can find out which email address AB has registered for you by going to 'My Profile' and then 'Edit My Profile'. If you don't need to sign in every time you come here then your web browser has stored your password. Tell us which browser you're using and we can tell you where to find your password.
Can I stress the importance of having not only your compatible email address in Gravatar but also that it should be the PRIMARY one. Otherwise it will never work.
