I heard that there is a virus going around in Kazaa newsletters and e- mails pretending to turn your computer into a games console....Is this true?

There are at least two viruses which have been specifically written to take advantage of and spread via Kazaa. These replicate by making hundreds of copies of the virus, calling themselves something attractive like "windows XP keygen" or "nude picture of xyz" and planting them in the Kazaa shared folder. Another Kazaa user comes along and grabs the file, opens it and gets infected too - and so on and so on. No doubt some nice people get fun out of sending these viruses out in emails and newsletters too. Moral is don't trust that what you download is safe and use up to date antivirus software.

We use Kazaa lite. It does the same job but doesn't use the advertising or spyware. We haven't had any problems with trojans since.

It is totally spyware free
