Are you sure it's your wifi and not a neighbours? The password you want should be a combination of capital letters and numbers, about 10 characters long.
You also have to press the wireless button on the hub as well - thats an extra security feature - your have a short time to enter the password on the device whilst the hubs wirless light is flashing.
Don't have to press any buttons on my hub to connect a wireless device to it. Had one once which used to connect automatically on pressing a button IIRC. Also recently connected BT's Smart Hub, again no button pressing.
