Apple Id - Scam?

Received email from Apple with the following, in the light of someone logging on to Apple via Google Chrome:

"We found the problem in the account there, it seems that someone wants to try to access the account there, therefore we lock your account, if you want to open your account, we hope you fill data data that we have given according to the data in your account"

Trouble is, it was me(!) logging in via Google on laptop as I was speaking to Apple about a problem with my Ipod. The Apple person asked me to log in and was able to help me return the Ipod to factory settings in an effort to resolve the problem.

I logged into Apple via my Ipad and that worked OK.

Anyone any idea what's going on? The above paragraph from Apple isn't exactly professional.

I was particularly interested as to why 'someone' seemed to know I had logged in via my laptop.

Ta Arrod. We never get to know do we. Perhaps apple themselves are having their help site monitored or breached by the scammers. They would never admit it though. It would be the obvious target for the scammers. After all everyone accessing the site is expecting incoming messages and may well fall for the false "return" email or text.

i get regular emails threatening to lock my apple account ... the thing is, i don't have an apple account nor have i ever had one
