https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+Tab+3+10.1+Battery+Replacement/76459 This is a picture of the inside of my tablet which has died. I'm in the process of trying to get the battery out as I think it was a bit swolen and I'm going to try fitting another before I give up on the tablet and buy a new one. If I ditch it, I want to remove the hard drive and destroy it but I don't know which piece it is. I guess its a solid state one. Does anyone know and could tell me from that picture?

Smash the lot with an hammer.
Does this device actually contain a "conventional" SATA / SSD hard drive? I'm not convinced it does..
As davegosling suggests, it, like most tablets, doesn't have a hard drive. It has flash memory.

No need to worry about it now as I have got it working. Good job I didn't listen to the guy in the shop who said I should buy a new one.
Smash it? I was going to say sell it but you obviously have lots of money so why not donate it to a charity or hospice instead of breaking it so no one can use it?

Have you got everything backed up just in case?

Thanks Dave. I only use it for browsing and watching iplayer when I am travelling so I don't need to worry about backing up. The important stuff is on a laptop at home.
