Whatsapp Text Box In The Middle Of The Iphone Screen

My whatsapp seems to have gone a bit haywire and the bit where I type keeps jumping to the middle of the screen of my iphone. Unfortunately that means that I cant read what is underneath the text bar, but also when I type a reply it is at the very top of the screen so disappears off the top where I can't read it before I send.
I had a quick look online for solutions but many answers are from a few years ago and some say to make a whatsapp call to fix it but that hasn't helped.
Any suggestions from you good people on Answerbank?

Have you rebooted the phone ?
Weird things can sometimes be a resource issue.

I tried that last week Old Geezer but unfortunately it didn't work.
However I have just tried it again and it did work!
So thanks for the prompt to do it again.
