I have just logged on to Google search. I noticed that the logo was different. When I hovered over it it said, "Happy Birthday". It is my birthday today, How does Google know that? Has anyone else got the same? I find it rather unnerving, as though I'm being spied on.

not that i recall, having had a birthday fairly recently..
but it does know what goods you buy, as the ads follow you around..
Happy Birthday by the way
not me. Have you put it anywhere on Google - on Gmail for instance?

Happy Birthday, anyway...
This is 2018, 34 years past....... Welcome (and happy birthday)
Not really scary.

If you registered for gmail then you would (probably) have put your date of birth.

If you are in your browser AND logged on to gmail on the same computer then it connects them that way.
Happy Birthday Jack.

Do you have a Google account?
I have a google account and gave a false birth date. It is one of the security questions if you are locked out of your account. I got a happy birthday on my false birthday.

I have a totally false identity for date of birth, mother's maiden name and school.
It's because you're logged in with a Google account, I get the same on my birthday.
Sorry, I assumed there'd be a thread in CB -

Happy Birthday, Jackdaw! :-)

No. I have a gmail account but haven't used it for four years. This has never happened before. Must be a new thing Google have dreamt up.
that's interesting, Mamya, it thinks the only thing I'm interested in is shopping. And that's without even knowing what sex I am.
