Daft question but you have tried turning the router off and disconnected from power for a bit, then bringing it all back up again ? Has been known to fix glitches.

You might have a button on your router that you press before you enter the password - its a security feature so that even if you have the wifi password you don't get access without the button also being pressed.

No we don`t need to do that.BTW,his phone is a Samsung S5 32GB

Maybe turn his phone off and on as well as the router.

Has your son connected his phone to your wi fi before?
Question Author
Yes,for years.
Tell him to take the battery and sim out of the phone after switching it off. Then put them back in and reboot the phone.
Will his phone connect to any other wifi hotspots? Mobile phones use an internal antenna which can break.

Good Morning All.
Just another query, when my son finally got the WiFi back on his phone,it showed the IP Address at the bottom of the window,is this address just his or do we all have a different even though connected to the same WiFi in the house.??
Each device connected tou your home network has an IP address, often assigned by the router.

Does it look like this 192.168.x.y ?

If so, it is the local address, assigned by the router and each device on your network has a similar (but different) address. Usually the first three sections (192.168.x) are the same and the last numnber (y) is different.

That is completely unrelated to your public IP address.

You can find that by looking at https://www.whatismyip.com/
