Could someone help please?A message appeared on the screen saying updates available.I clicked on install updates and it said installed successfully. It then goes to configuring updates, gets to 48% complete, then won't go any further. This is my third attempt at these updates, and after a while it shuts down, then says failed to configure updates reverting changes. Any help much appreciated. Many Thanks. Eric.

Try downloading and installing one update at a time.

Go in to Windows Update and change the settings to "Never check for updates"

Then select "Check for updates"

When the list of updates appears deselect them all, then just select one of them, and then select install.

Repeat the process for each individual update, one at a time.

Reboot between each update.

Hopefully if you install them one at a time it might get round the problem.

I am not saying it WILL solve the problem but that is what I would try if it happened to me.

Many Thanks for your advice Guilbert53 & Buenchico. I have installed updates manually apart from one, which I believe is the one which is causing my problem. This one is now showing as pending in the status column. The good news is the computer is back up to speed. Thanks Again. Eric.
