It seemed to be cured but image rotation has recurred. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name of the prog that controls it. It was on the bar and the shop told me it was possible to disable rotation altogether but I could not see how to do that. However, I've accidentally removed the icon (blue?) but later found it among progs. Now it doesn't seem to be listed there at all but it wd be helpul if I cd recall the name. And more helpful to get advice to stop all rotation!

You are probably using Intel HD Graphics.

If so in Windows 7 you do as follows:

Open Control Panel and find Intel HD Graphics icon.

Double click to open the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.

Select Options and Support

Then where it says "Manage Hot Keys" select Disable.

It may be slightly different on Windows 10 but just try to get to the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel and select Disable on "Manage Hot Keys"

Yes Guilber, Intel Graphics. I found my way to where you guided me but although the hot keys are disabled, the screen still rotates.
Then I have to get back into Intel G to enable the hotkeys again. Am I missing something?

PS. Where do I find if I have W7 or W10? Your W7 instructions worked but I think I'm supposed to have had W10 installed.
have you tried updating the drivers

I will try the updating but need to know which OS I have .
download and install this system analyzer and run it, view detailed report, it will tell you exactly what you have.

Tha analyzer reveals I have W10 64 bit but please say which of the drivers to choose. TKS

Driver Support Asst launched but no updates available.
Can I revisit the problem. Ex web pages and Mailer etc, screen leans to the right and is brought back manually by use of the keys.
Intel Graphics is entered after the screen has been uprighted. If the HKs are disabled, then accepted and Intel exited as required, the screen immediately jumps to rt lean. It is then v difficult to get back into Intel and Enable again.
So it seems the default is rt lean, initially brought about by not using the laptop on a firm surface.

That's done the trick! Many thanks indeed to all who worked on this problem.
