I hardly make any calls now so do expect my BT bill to not exceed around £60 a month that includes internet. (Landline)

However a couple of times over the last few months when I actually study the bill I do not know/recognise some of the numbers. All my calls are free with this plan I have but with these numbers I don't recognise - there is always an amount - granted a low amount but still it mounts up.

Is there anybody the same out there.

Have you tried look8ng the number up on the internet?

Do you have anyone come to the house that could be making the calls?
I recall someone else has had this problem on here. I never make any calls on my home phone so effectively just pay the landline charge that I need for my broadband
If you ring banks or government numbers, you may find some are chargeable and are not included within the plan you have. You need to check the numbers on google.
£60 a month sounds a lot....unless you have BT's TV included?
What kind of numbers are they? I don't believe any plan is 100% free, calls to 0844 and 0871 for example, directory enquiries etc are not usually free.
We had unlimited Broadband, anytime calls plus the line rental. The anytime calls was costing £7.50 per month and as we made few calls in the daytime, we decided to change the plan to evenings and weekends but I can see that the monthly charge could be £60 per month if that included the line rental. We paid the line rental upfront seperately and my monthly bill was around £22. Whenever I rang Halifax bank which I believe is 0345 I was charged for it and mobile numbers are also charged so your bill is quite possibly correct but worth checking.
I'm with John Lewis Phone and Broadband and pay just over £30 a month for line rental, unlimited broadband and all calls (24/7) to both landlines and mobiles....
I have BT broadband ( unlimited but not the super fast one), free anytime calls and BT Sport and I pay less than £50. I have never been charged for calls I didn't make.
Mobile numbers and some high rate numbers are not free. I agree with cassa333. Check the numbers on the internet.

Thanks - I do have a pretty good photographic memory for numbers - and some of the numbers are repetitive on the bill and I know for sure I would remember them.

Will take note and thanks for answering
Phone BT and question them about these numbers that are unknown to you, jj. Could be in for a rebate.

Put the phone numbers into Google, they may be recognised and it may jog your memory.
Try emailing them, jj.

keep this site to hand if you're calling companies, it gives free or cheap alternatives to costly numbers

Aye Tonya - somebody replied to one of your posts recently and called you Tonya - so the name has stuck LOL - they forgot the V.

And thanks to everybody else - will take a note of the numbers and act up on them. As you say Mamy it may jog the oul memory.
Ok I'll let you off this time, jj ;-)
I'm around £40 per month which is anytime calls, broadband and BT Sport.

Line rental is paid yearly - get a discounted rate for that, so thats not included monthly.
Question Author
ok - I've written my numbers out to verify and just typed into "Search Bug" - first two are valid but is there anyway I can find out who they are
I don't know 'Search bug' is that a service you pay for?

I usually type a number into Google and often it comes up linked to a company - it probably wouldn't if it were a private individual though.
