Did you "eject" the stick or just pull it out? When you write something to a USB device it isn't necessarily done immediately; the computer just makes a note to do it when it has nothing else to do. If you just pull-out the stick it might not have done it; if you "eject" the stick it will tell you when it's safe to remove it ie, the data has been written.

hello
ta for info
i never eject it i just pull it out
There's your problem then, Henry. You should ALWAYS "eject" a USB device before removing it.
>>> You should ALWAYS "eject" a USB device before removing it

That's a MYTH!!!

Windows has 'Quick removal' enabled by default, meaning that it's completely safe to simply unplug a USB device (unless your computer is actually writing data to it at the time). You only need to 'eject' a device if you've disabled 'Quick removal' to allow 'write caching' (which improves performance). 999 out of 1000 computer users probably wouldn't even know how to disable 'Quick removal', yet alone actually do it!

Henry:
Is your problem that your computer doen't seem to know that you've got a USB drive plugged into it, or is it that the drive is recognised but there doesn't appear to be any data on it?
henry, when you say 'sent' what did you actually do?
And depending on what you sent, maybe the USB can't hold files in that format- or maybe the files were too big for the usb stick. Before you remove the stick it's always worth checking what you hope to have saved onto it is actually there.
Just try saving again to your usb stick
As the heading is 'Disc' were you trying to copy from a disc or DVD (eg a film?) onto a pendrive?

trying to copy from websites on my screen
You still haven't answered the question in the last paragraph of my post, Henry.
>trying to copy from websites on my screen

I'm pretty sure you've raised this before. I'm not sure what you mean. The only way I know to do it is to to do a screen print of the webpage- or copy the URL- and save it to something like Word and put on your pendrive.
try to format the USB then again try to do the same.
This looks useful, henry, even though I'm still not sure exactly what you are trying to do
