I have one of the original Kindles which I have just charged. It's in 'sleep' mode and I can't get it to turn on or off. Any suggestions please

Have you tried pressing the on/off button for several seconds?

Is there a "Reset" button? (sometimes a small hole to stick a paper-clip in)

bhg I had tried that but nothing happened, I still had it plugged in, took it off charge and it's now working. Thinks the button had jammed! Thanks for your help.
