Itunes Icloud Cd Back Up?

Hello, I'm about to buy a new laptop, I have downloaded my entire music collection from CD to iTunes on my old laptop, how do I transfer my entire collection to my new laptop? If I use iCloud (no idea what that is to be honest) does it back up my entire collection or just my iTunes purchases? I would be grateful for any direction - many thanks.
