Stupid Word

I was just typing a letter in Word 2013 and accidentally clicked something; a column appeared on the right hand side with a pink highlighted word and my name. The word was joined by a long horizontal line to where I was supposed to make a comment.
Any idea what I've done and how I can get rid of it?! Even when I print it out the column and pink word and long line is there!

Right-click on the comment area and select 'Delete comment'.

Oh I'd have put the wrong answer then, I thought you'd clicked the dreaded track changes which are a nightmare to remove (well not really if you know what you're doing).
