How To Log In To Youtube

Can anyone help with this? I can`t find anywhere on their home page where one can sign in, sign up or open an account. You can`t download stuff now unless you open an account. Opportunity would be a fine thing! Any help for a layman would be appreciated.

There on the front page I get 'sign in'. Click that and you get 'create account' if you haven't got one

I can watch Youtube videos without signing in and I can download them too (via a browser extension). There should be a blue 'Sign In' box at the top right though.

If yo click on "Sign In " at the top right hand of the page. If yo altready have a google account you can sign in with that.

Thanks for replies, but the Youtube home page I`m getting has no sign in box anywhere. All there is at the top right of the page are 3 clickables, namely CREATE A VID; YOUTUBE APPS and NOTIFICATIONS. Nothing else. I`ve tried re loading the home page, but they`re all the same. Clearly, I`m getting a different home page to the one you`re getting. I`ts very frustrating!

If you're seeing those options, you're already logged into Youtube! (Remember that Youtube is part of Google. If you're logged into Google, you're logged into Youtube by default).

To the right of the options you mention you should see a letter in a circle. The letter will be the initial one of the Yotube account that you're logged into. (If you've not added any additional accounts (or 'brands' as Youtube sometimes calls them), it will be the first letter of your Youtube username.

Clicking on that letter will enable you to manage that account, switch to another account, add a new account (via 'Switch account' > 'Add account') or log out.

Thanks Buenchico, I thought that might be the case, but it still insisted I log in. I thought maybe my downloader might be at fault. I use Freemake video downloader and tried re-loading it. The download was a later version to my previous one and eureka! - it worked. Exactly what the connection was, I`ve no idea.
Oh, the wonders and frustrations of the w.w.w!
