Hello. I am new to Bluetooth but cannot get it to work on my laptop and tablet! Have set up on both and switched the Bluetooth icons on both to 'on' and it shows the Bluetooth in blue.

The option of 'Bluetooth device' now shows at top of 'send to' list and if I select a file say on laptop it the shows my tablet details and I click on that and it then shows 'connectiing' but nothing happens and it times out.

What am I doing wrong please anyone?

Your tablet is probably waiting for you to tell it to accept the file. Connecting via USB would he quicker and less complicated.

Thanks for that - I tried USB but for some reason my new tablet (Windows 10 as well as my laptop) will not accept! I rt click on the file in my docs on the laptop but it does not offer me in the pull down list the name of the tablet!

Is the tablet set up (in connections) to be visable to other devices?

Yes - but have gone off Bluetooth option as I cannot suss this out!
Can I ask about the 'One Drive option' anyone?

Both my laptop and my new tablet have the latest version of Windows 10. When I go into the laptop ALL my docs and photos etc are there in my 'One Drive' vault for the last year - great! However...…..when I opened 'One Drive' on my Tablet all that was in the vault where a few docs etc which I had put directly on it since I bought it last week!

I have never used 'One Drive' before but assumed that when I opened it on my new Tablet that it would show ALL my past docs from my laptop.

I am nearly there but they will not transfer. Please help any one with a simple solution (I am elderly but usually quite tech savvy!)

Thanks again

You need to use the same account/email address on both for the one drive to work identically on both.

Thanks Tuvok. I have only one email address and the tablet when I downloaded the One Drive asked me to sign in with Microsoft.

Thought that is what I had on main laptop but I use Google all the time. Will check that point!

Thanks
