Can anyone recommend a mobile phone pay as you go deal WITHOUT DATA please? I've been with Virgin for years but they have now told me that they will change my tariff to include data so will have to pay a monthly fee. I know I'm a dinosaur but I only use my phone in emergencies so really don't want to pay for data which I will not use. Any suggestions anyone?

I am on pay as you go with Virgin but have not had any communication regarding my tariff.
I'm with this - it's the best deal for people like us

Don't know what you're paying but Giffgaff charge: Prefer to pay as you go? Our rates are just 25p/minute, 10p/text and 5p/ MB without a goodybag.
Asda, had it for years.
Your not a dinosaur, as I only ever use mine the same. Not a phone junky, but the kids like them. :0)

Danny - you might get a letter from them. Received mine yesterday telling me they were changing my tariff to £7.00/month from April which includes data. Thanks for info from the others - I will look into them to see if they are going to do the same. Many thanks for your help everyone.

Danny - I know it's not but they are no longer offering pay as you go! At present, I only pay for my calls which are few and far between - but it seems they are ceasing to offer this.
Geov41 - the O2 deal is no longer available!
I just got mine at Christmas, it's a Vodafone Samsung Galaxy and there is no monthly fee

Calls 3p Text 2p Data 1p
The only commitment is call, text or use some data at least once every 6 months to keep active
Julian, I have just contacted Tesco Mobile and they have no plans to do away with Pay as you go.
Are you sure that this isn't an attempt at a scam?
We're with Tesco and get on their Lite Tariff (or words to that effect) - designed for people like me who make about 5 calls a year, so low charges and cheap texts.
No it’s not a scam. I also have been with Virgin for years, spending as little as £2 per YEAR on an emergency handset.
I had the email to warn me that I will be charged £7 per month (£84) for a bundle of texts/data/calls that I will never use.
I have already told them where to stick their “super deal” and moved to THREE on a PAYG
Being on Virgin PAYG myself, I await the unwelcome news - nothing received to date.
gee, that link states that that tariff is no longer available.
Data ? That's what WiFi's for.
I am encouraged to pay every month, and I'm on PAYG. If I choose not to and delay I lose the inclusive texts/calls and my phone credit reduces until I do.
