Outlook 365

I installed Office 365 some months ago and all was fine with Outlook, Excel, Words etc but yesterday when I logged in and opened Google Chrome Outlook immediately opened, but it seemed to be an updated version. The trouble is it will not close down and when I click on the Outlook symbol on task bar another version of Outlook opens. I would like to uninstall one version and be able to close the other but have no idea how to do it. I am not very IT savvy so if anybody can advise I will be eternal grateful.
