Buying an X-Box 360

Even though it's released here in the 2nd of next month (I think), I heard it's almost certainly sold out already due to people pre-ordering the blasted toy.

So can anyone make an educated guess as to when all the hype will die down and when I could walk into a shop and buy one?

Although this page is talking about 360's selling out in the US, it reckons that it'll be February before you'll be able to walk in off the street and buy one. It also says (in case you don't want to read it or the link doesn't work!) that there wasn't even enough units to fulfil all the preorders. Start your queue now if you've preordered! People on Ebay seem to be doing a brisk trade in selling units that don't currently, nor may ever exist for ridiculously large sums of money. At least you may get a Furby or a Buzz Lightyear this year.
