Google Chrome

Any thoughts please ? I can't get into Google Chrome . It keeps coming up saying Application unable to start correctly ( 000005).
Wifi ok but I did turn it off for 5 mins but no good.
Any ideas in simple words please very welcome.

It's likely that a recent Windows update has corrupted something.

Probably the simplest thing to try is to Uninstall Chrome and then Reinstall Chrome.

Rosie, since the Windows 10 update my Chrome browser has gone haywire to such an extent I've given it up and am now just using Edge. If you really want to stick with Chrome I suggest you uninstall it then reinstall as advised by Ellipsis

I have now accidentally installed Edge - don't know how I did it. I really really don't know what I'm doing but it works. X to all.

i'm guessing Edge was already installed and it's an excellent browser

Edge is installed with Windows and it is surprisingly good x

Yes, Edge is pre-installed on Windows 10. You need it to install Chrome! :)

firefox is the way to go, totally customizable..i like that you can set an account and save all your favourites, so if you get a new machine or format the one you have, just install firefox login and all you favourites are back, plus theme's and addons etc.

fender you can do that with just about every browser -and import favourites from other browsers. Its a 10 second job at the most.

For the record I run the preview versions of Win 10 and even with the regular updates Firefox comes through without issue.
