Windows 10

Had a message on my laptop saying that the version of W10 is out of date ( or words to that effect ).

Where / how do I get the current / latest version installed ?

I'm guessing that the message is "Your Windows 10 version is nearing end of service".

If so, click the start button and then the Settings cogwheel. Click Windows Update and then Check For Updates. Then accept the offer to update Windows.

well it should download the upgrades itself and install next startup/shutdown.

Windows does not afford you the courtesy of declining updates. It may give you a small grace period but then barges in regardless.

Yep. And what grinds my gears is that it tells me 'don't switch off your computer' immediately after I've switched off my computer.
