Quite possible, although the important distinction, which I raised in my first post, is that becoming a Muslim does not equate with becoming a fanatical psychopath using the peg of Islam on which to hang reasons for murderous actions.

It seems to be common in converts, rather than people who were born in the faith, to become radicalised.
They have underlining problems such as drug or violence issues and end up in prison. They are then taught the muslim faith by dangerous individuals, who use their faith as an excuse for their criminality. All that might be conjecture, but it will be interesting to find out who converted him.
