Help! I dropped my digital camera on a tiled floor and although I got power initially, I now can't. The batteries are fine. Is there any hope of getting it repaired economically?

Depends what's wrong with it. Also, depending on how much it cost to buy you might be cheaper to buy a replacement.

Is it still under warranty/guarantee?
Is it covered by your contents insurance?

i know for a fact (because i recently left jessops after 16 years) that some manufacturers have a fixed fee and it is over 100. the problem is that these things are made with cheap labour in china (or similar) but repaired in europe! kodak go to belgium, olympus go to portugal, fuji are done in bedford but most of the time you just get a replacement from fuji at what i can only assume is a cost or trade price.

it's probably for the bin i am afraid. if you have had it a while you can probably get a better one for a third of what you paid for that one!
