Still Have This Problem

I posted yesterday about this problem and although I thought I might have solved the problem, the shortcut icons were all muddled up again today when I switched on my computer.
Any suggestions please?

You may not find the icon settings, depending on the exact os version that you are running, with a right click in open field. You may need to open settings ... usual way ... windows icon then cog wheel. Then choose "Personalisation" > Themes. Then under the header Related Settings click on "Desktop icon settings"(may be in red text) The pop out menu will have a check box allow themes to change desktop icons. Whatever it is change the status and see whether that cures the problem. It is easy to put back to what is is now if it does not.

what do you mean by shortcuts on the desk top? You mean icons?

right click and untick "auto arrange"

I have it so themes don't change the icons, and I have auto arrange unticked.
On one of the above links it tells you to arrange as you want them then right click in a space and click on refresh.
Have now done this, so will see what happens tomorrow.
