Sd Card Error

On my Samsung mobile I have an alert that reads “A read/write error occurred on your SD card.If this continues format your SD card or replace it”What does that mean.?

It means there is a fault on your SD card, so you need to back up the files on the SD card, and then reformat it. If any additional errors occur when you format it, then bin it and buy a new one.

How do I back up files.?Sorry I’m not very technically minded.
