Is there any point in buying a DVD recorder with an in-built digital tuner if my LCD TV has an in-built digital tuner?

Yes - because you would be able to tape something on a different digital channel to the digital channel that you are watching on the TV.

Sorry - not tape - I meant record to DVD !
