Paigntnian 19:16. "Tory MPs and Tory Party members are not racist. There may be a few but no more than in other organisations. Labour has, at least in recent years, been antisemitic and provably so." I could riposte - "Labour MPs and Labour Party members are not racist. There may be a few but no more than in other organisations. Tory has, at least in recent years,...

How very dare you ask such questions Sp1814!
ABers are not allowed to question the mindset of the Conservative Party and it’s members and make such spurious allegations, despite a lot of evidence to the contrary.
He's not representative in many of the things he seems to believe.
Don’t think so. Rishi got almost half the votes when he ran against Truss and seems to be favourite now. If your source wants to stir up some sort of racist slur they need to try again - and next time a bit harder.
TBF the guy is a bit of a ranting idiot and I sense that he was surprised to learn certain things in that interview and in response made up policy on the hoof. He's the Tory equivalent of someone like Angela Rayner who does a similar thing.
Ah, I knew there’d have to be a Labour comparison……

Pathetic.
No ... his problem is that he is an American sock puppet, and he was guilty of stabbing the electorate in the back when he did so to the man chosen by the electorate. Is his wife paying her taxes now do you know?
He's a bit of a wally, took a metaphorical knife to a political gun fight. The interviewer was bang on and dealt with him very well. SP do you really think that in the last 122 years since Labour have existed that the Tories would have been in government for 58% of that time if HE was remotely representative? If you do and that is generally true of Labour, it explains why they nearly always get their april handed to them in elections.
He got elected in Richmond...have you ever been to Richmond?

So this chap isn’t representative and the vast majority of Tory voters are colour-blind.

Good to know.
If you’d looked you wouldn’t have needed to ask.
SP, it's the lefties that keep talking about ethnicity, not relevant to us. Sunak is not flavour of the month because he's seen as the back stabber nowt to do with his race.

“Rishi got almost half the votes when he ran against Truss and seems to be favourite now”

No he isn’t…not with Tory members.

It’s truly shocking that ANYONE would think that a return of Johnson would be good for the country. It’s a form of mass cognitive dissonance.
Shocking! But not to worry. It might not go that far. Rishi is steaming ahead among all those awful Conservative racists in parliament.

If you think that race is absolutely irrelevant in this race then you’re being very naive.

naomi24 was involved in a thread two months ago where khandro said (I’ll paraphrase) that a brown-skinned man shouldn’t be PM in a predominantly white country.

He asked for the names of any predominantly black countries with white leaders to prove his point.

People who think that the ONLY thing that sways Tory voters (or any voters for that matter) is ideology are wrong.

As long as Tory members don’t get to vote, I think we’ll be okay.

Leave it to the democratically elected MPs to decidez
SP, look through these pages and others you'll find it's the left with the racist obsession. I'm not saying there are no racists in the party but in my experience it's rare. I've been to countless events politically and rarely does it even come up.
The tories have had the most diverse cabinets of any UK government- that's all you need to know.

ignoring racism is no way to deal with it.

I don’t think the chap in the link is representative - but there IS an element within the party who absolutely have an issue with Sunak because of his race.
