I have swam in pools high up but I couldnt do the glass ones. I think the Millennium Hilton (was opposite Twin Towers) was metal judging by the boom as you kicked on a tumble. On the eighth I seem to recall.

The water in this thing weighed about 1,100 tons (that's without the tank itself, which must have been substantial). It was 46 feet high and (by my rough calculations) about 35 feet in diameter. What on Earth was it doing in the middle of a restaurant. The Radisson Hotel at Stansted Airport has a "Wine Tower" in its main bar:

It is a similar height to the exploding fish tank in the Radisson, Berlin. They obviously go in for these things.

I have to say it doesn't really look tacky, wolfie. It just looks odd and out of place. It is enormous (probably as big as the fish tank) and is in the centre of what is otherwise a very nice bar. This is in the centre well of the hotel and some of the rooms are arranged around this atrium (with some going off in corridors to the sides). It's a good talking point (and probably quite an engineering feat) but I just don't know why it's there!

We have a hotel nearby that used to have a huge water mill in the lounge. It was there first so it makes sense.
