Blue Screen

I have a brand new laptop , but it keeps crashing and coming up with blue screen...saying things like" a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down"

It also has technical information saying

stop : 0x0000008e , 0x00000051 , 0xf76192cc 0xf78ea928 , 0x000000001

and also that mp firewall.sys , address f76192cc base at f7617000 , datestamp 3dfoco71

hope this helps , so can anyone help me , is it my firewall mcafee downloaded from aol , or is it aol itself??? help please

it could be any one of a million things; blue screens are a waste of time unless you spend your time debugging those sort of messages.

when did it start occuring?

and how new is the laptop? if its been doing it pretty much since you got it, then take it back and get a new one.

Download the latest drivers for your sound card and vidio card as see if that helps stop the blue screen. I dont really understand the question about the firewall but mpfirewall.sys is the driver for Mcafee Personal Firewall.
